                                                                                               Know Your Ferret

      So now you own a ferret .  Welcome to the fuzzie world.  Along with all the joy of ownership comes the responsibility of keeping your ferret healthy.   In this section we hope to educate the new comer , and help those of you  who have owned ferrets for a while to  Come to know your ferret .

      First and foremost  Get to know how your ferret plays .How active are they when their running around , do they play for a long time, ( most kits will seem like they will go on forever), the older the ferret , (most of the time) , the shorter the playing is until they flat ferret on you or take a nap.         While your picking up your ferret ,  run your hand down the length of the body , checking for bumps, and anything  unusual.      Check their teeth  for , chips , discoloration,  and plaque.   Next check their gums and inner mouth area for redness ,(should   be pink), any unusual bumps around the teeth area , or on the roof of the mouth.    Make sure its not pale.        How much does your ferret(s) eat, and drink water.

      Keep checking your ferret every day for these unusual signs ,  and others .     Please don't forget the most important thing :  KEEP YOUR FERRET SHOT'S UP TO DATE (distemper & rabies) !      _________________________________________________________________________________________________
