 A Tribute to Tigger

Even thou you were only part of our family for 5 short months  - We loved a lifetime.  Words
can‘t  begin to express the Love and the Joy you’ve given us  over these past few months.

My heart was so empty after the loss of Bandit & J D.  I thought that I would never again feel that kind of Love.  I still had Shera, but she had grown very aloof after the loss of her brothers.  Through grace of God, I found your shelter Mom, Mary.  Her comforting words helped me through the grieving process, and to my surprise, the emptiness was replaced with Love.  I was once again looking forward to adopting.  Mary matched us up with Livingston, a beautiful 3-year-old silver male who had just had adrenal surgery.  She felt that once he healed, he would be a perfect match for us.   On February 22, when your Dad, Shera and I went to meet Livingston - you poked your head out of your hammock, looked at us with those sad eyes and an immediate bond was formed.   We took to you instantly, and once Mary told us your sad story, there was no way we were leaving without you.  So instead of adopting one ferret, we adopted two.

From the day we brought you home, you were Shera’s constant companion.  As her eyesight began to fail, you became her eyes, never leaving her side, always there to protect her.  And your Dad, I know he misses that “special playtime “ the two of you shared.  He gets up in the morning & looks for you and thinks, “Where’s my Boy – it’s time to play tug-of-war with my sweat pants.  As for me, I have to admit that when I wake up in the morning, stumble to the kitchen for that cup of coffee, I miss your warm body brushing up against my leg and that “Look” that says  “OK, Mom – I’m up, give me some treats.”

Tigger, I want you to know that these last few months were among the happiest days of my life.  You showed us so such Love – More than I ever thought was possible.  I hope we fulfilled your dreams of a happy and loving family.  You see Tig, I know you chose us as your family and I hope we gave you what you needed to enter the BRIDGE as a young, healthy and care-free spirit. I find comfort in knowing that you are now playing with J D and Bandit, sharing happy stories and memories that only occurs when your part of a loving family.   And now my Tig, it’s time to day “Good Bye” but know that the Love we shared will  sustain me until we meet again.

Much Love,
Mom, Dad, Bob, Shera, Livingston, Buddy and Wyle
