Welcome to the 2nd annual
My Ferret -My Companion
Walk-A-Thon 2000

What
a day it was! Plenty of sunshine, room, food, friends and ferrets
alike.
Nothing was missing (except the news media).
Everyone started showing up at
11:00 am to start the set up .

Christine Lustig (right) helped
a great deal. She
plotted out the route our little fuzzies were to walk,
she also took care of the pledge sheets and keeping
a running total of monies to be collected.
Also (in her spare time), she did her walk with
her lovely little ones! What an accomplishment!
She even found time to eat .
Thank
you for all your help

Then - if it wasn't for Chris Ramon I
don't
think I (we) would have ever gotten the
balloons
blown up and put where they belonged. He was
kind of funny about it, while we were starting the
walk we couldn't find him. While the walk was
winding down, I went to our van and opened the
back hatch and there he was finishing up the
balloons. He also helped Christine with flagging
the route.
Thanks Chris for all your help and drying out
the
floor in the Van (Ha,Ha)
Shown in this picture is Tom(l), Tigger(c), and Chris(r)
On the picture above in center is Tigger (Jim Fishback). On
our last two events, he's
been behind the grill cooking all the meats for us to eat ( which is very time
consuming).
He has helped in many ways, and always provided us with great food.
Thanks Tigger for all your
Help with the picnic and Walk-A-Thon
Then the cages were set up and
everyone was getting ready for the walk. What a scramble, looking
for leashes, harnesses and their
ferrets. The walk began at about
12:45 pm - then the fun began.
Off we
go, following the orange flagged
road. Imagine, 40 ferrets going down a trail
sniffing butts, licking ears and doing what ferrets
do best, getting all tangled up with each other!!

Most wanted to play and take mom or dad
to venture onto their own paths (follow what
flags??).

Then they formed a
straight line , heading
towards lands unknown to them. Poor little guys
and gals walked for about half an hour to complete
the course laid out for them. In the long run it was
worth it. They raised funds for the shelters that provide care for the little
fuzzies that dont have a home of their own and it will help provide monies
for surgeries, food, and litter.

Point
Roll over
Sniff

Heal
Run
and last but not least
Hide!!!
Then
it was time to sit back and relax, talk and eat.

While the fuzzies rested
